Afternoon Teas at Northwood House (Cowes Week)

Afternoon Tea

04 Aug 2018

It has become part of the Cowes Week scene to enjoy a quintessentially English afternoon tea on the lawns of Northwood House.

Stroll through the town, along The Parade and up into Northwood Park.   Enjoy the manicured lawns and verdant beds of the Park on your way. Then settle in to enjoy Afternoon Tea, as the Victorians would have done, taking in  the views over the Park and Solent beyond.

Wight Vintage will ensure visitors enjoy the very best homemade sandwiches, cakes and scones served in elegant style on the lawns or in the Ballroom on inclement days.

During Lendy Cowes Week the cafe will be open for morning coffee from 10:00.  Scrumptious afternoon tea will served from midday until 18:00*.  Make it a date in your diary!

*Except Tuesday when the tearoom closes at 17.30 to host a private event.

Bookings can be made for hour table slots in advance by calling Tracey on 07590 612785 or Claire on on 07855 022429.

'The Reluctant Dragon' at Northwood House (Cowes Week)

07 Aug 2018

Great family entertainment this Lendy Cowes Week

The Quantum Theatre presents… “The Reluctant Dragon”

“You’ve got to fight him some time or other you know, ’cos he’s St George and you’re the dragon…”  Everyone knows St George has to do battle with the dragon, but what happens when the dragon simply won’t fight St George?  In this delightful new adaptation by Michael Whitmore, Quantum Theatre presents Kenneth Grahame’s The Reluctant Dragon, an enchanting tale of bravery, friendship and derring-do for all the family.

With two special Cowes Week performances on Tuesday 7th August at 11.30am and 3pm, enjoy this great outdoor production with family and friends in Northwood Park.  The shows take place in the hedged picnic area opposite the Park’s tennis courts.

The performance is great for children… and is the perfect way to spend some family time together in this busy week on the Isle of Wight.  Bring a picnic… and make a morning or afternoon of it!
